Composer Randy Edelman “Everything is Possible”

“When day comes, we step out of the shade aflame and unafraid. The new dawn blooms as we free it. For there is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it”….Amanda Gorman

Hope is the lifeblood of humanity. In its best form hope is an optimistic conviction, a potent elixir easing our present ailments and giving us strength to tackle the future. Hope can be a powerful driving force going forward into the unknown, believing that positive things await despite concrete evidence or it can become our worst enemy shielding our hearts from new possibility. Composer Randy Edelman offers his song of hope “EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE” to all those who try relentlessly, the person that seems least likely to succeed, the weaker party, the loser, the victim, the outlander and to mankind within our crumbling sense of freedom….Hope is the flame that keeps humanity in motion….

Heard all over our nation on terrestrial radio stations including 103.5 KISS FM Chicago, Georgia, LA and Washington DC, 94.9 The Bull in Georgia, Power 105.1 NY, Hot 97 NY, WGCI 107.5 Chicago, and most recently added to Christian radio 95.7 Hallelujah FM Memphis “Everything is Possible” was recorded in Sweden some years ago and lost in the shuffle of the music industry until now. Realizing this song is more poignant now than ever it was reissued on Tribeca Records as well as an urban version featuring Grand Master Melle Mel on the iconic TRAX label in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop.

When music is played on the radio people begin to pick up the words and sing along repeating the messages so that others hear and understand their message and even speak about it. Radio is and remains a dominant and influential medium for connecting with audiences even in this digital age. It has evolved to actively  engaging with its listeners  while radio hosts form a loyal bond with their fans. According to “Nielsen’s Audio Today Report” radio is America’s #1 reach, touching 91% of persons 18 and over each month.

It has been proven by hundreds of researchers that music creates a synergy between people and confirms music’s place in augmenting social relationships. The antiwar sentiments of Bob Dylan or the anti-apartheid challenging lyrics of South Africa’s Miriam Makeba, or Nigeria’s Fela Kuti party hard, live the rich life lyrics have all had an effect on mankind. Oliver Mtukudzi’s Music has created awareness around HIV in Zimbabwe, while UNICEF ambassador Angélique Kidjo sings about hunger and homelessness in her homeland. Known throughout the world Youssou N’Dour is a musical peacemaker in Senegal. The words of the trailblazing iconic singer/songwriter Jackie DeShannon’s “Put A Little Love in Your Heart” still reins true through the airwaves and hearts of the masses.

Have you ever noticed the power of music in films, (something Randy Edelman is well versed and acquainted with having created the soundtracks to over 100 film and television broadcasts)? At just the right second the music can change the storylines to become heightened, gut wrenching or suspenseful and you often find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat wondering what’s going to happen next, while it alters your emotions at the drop of a hat. “Everything Is Possible” possesses that same magnitude of influence and if our world leaders, influencers and citizens of the globe just listened to the words and have the insight to understand them we’d have a better planet ….

In the Words of Randy Edelman

“Everything Is Possible”

A gang of bandits once shocked me in an alley
I held my arms high
And screamed for some rescue
It on time arrived
You see lighting struck their eyes
I bolted out to some safe Avenue

When all the games I’ve played so long were ending
and all opponents seemed to know the score
When all the hope on earth
Won’t add to your net worth
That’s the time surprises are in store

You gotta dream that
Harmony is never ending
You got to dream it
All the good times they would last
You gotta dream that
Everything is possible
And all the pain
Is in the past

Some hungry lions
Once trapped me in a corner
A band of experts
Once told me I was through
It’s seemed like fate looked down
And spun me upside down
That’s the time to see if words are true

When all the fortune seems to just go round you
When even angels
Seem to block your way
You still gotta hope for a sign
When your down to your last dime
That’s the time to tap the strength in you
